Workflow Detail: Evaluate Performance
Test
Purpose
|
|
The purpose of evaluating integration test is deliver and assess the quantifiable
measures of testing to determine the quality of the target of test and the of the test
process.
Significant analysis of defects, beyond that which is necessary to resolve the fault,
may be inappropriate at this time in the lifecycle. Defect density and aging reports
are more appropriate for the evaluation performed during system testing.
The test designer is responsible for reviewing and assessing the quality of the target
of testing and the test process. A familiarity with test metrics and statistics is
necessary.
There are two key measures used during this workflow detail:
- Coverage metrics - to determine if sufficient testing has been implemented and executed
- Quality metrics - to identify the quality of the target of test and the test process.
