The purpose of the installation artifacts is to enable someone to install the product.

  • Installation scripts, setup files, and so on.
  • Installation instructions

The installation artifacts are created before each release for that particular release.

The implementer implements the installation scripts and writes the installation instructions.

Additional Information To top of page

In a system where the end user is expected to install the product, the Installation Instructions can be included in the user's guide. For a more complicated installation where qualified service staff are needed, there needs to be a separate installation description.
