1. Installation of BPwin 4.0 - Service Pack 1 ---------------------------------------------------------- If you previously installed a version of BPwin 4.0, the BPwin 4.0 - Service Pack 1 setup program detects the presence of the previous version and automatically installs the necessary files. All other files remain intact and unchanged. The setup program will not delete or change any files that you created including .bp1 and.bpx files.
If installing BPwin 4.0 for the first time, use the Autorun Setup program on the BPwin 4.0 CD to install the product. The Autorun Setup program is automatically executed when you insert the CD in the drive. You can also execute it by selecting the setup.exe program in the root folder of the BPwin 4.0 CD.
2A. BPwin 4.0 - Service Pack 1 Advisory Notes ------------------------------------------------------------ The following list of solutions summarizes the issues that have been addressed by this service pack:

Definition in HTML format need to have word wrapping if there is no carriage return in definition field of the model.
Solution#: 2 UNABLE TO OPEN WORD DOCUMENT FROM BPWIN RTF REPORT

Solution#: 3 LEAF MARKS NOT DISPLAYED IN NODE TREE
Leaf Marks do not appear on the Node Tree, whether the option is turned on or off as they did in BPWin 2.5.
Solution#: 4 LABELS DISAPPEAR IN IDL EXPORT
Label coordinates are not being placed in the IDL by export.
Solution#: 5 ALLOW PRINTING OF PAPERCLIPS TO BE TURNED OFF
A new option is available in the print dialog to allow printing of the paperclips for UDP markers to be turned off.
Solution#: 6 TOOLTIPS NOT DISPLAYED ON UDP KEYWORDS DICTIONARY BUTTONS
Tooltips were not displayed for the Insert and Delete push buttons on the UDP Keywords Dictionary dialog.
Solution#: 7 ROLE SECTION ADDED TO REPORTS
A new role section (Role Group/Role) was added to BPwin reports. Added to activity, datastore, external, referent and junction sections for the Activity, Cost Center and Picture reports.
Solution#: 8 PROBLEMS WITH BPX-EAX INTERFACE WITH ERWIN
Various problems with the interface between ERwin and BPwin when attempting to synchronize diagrams using the BPX-EAX interface.
The rules for synchronizing diagrams are:
1. BPwin 4.0 and ERwin 3.5.2 models must be synchronized before upgrading the ERwin model to ERwin 4.0.
2. After the model is opened in ERwin 4.0, an EAX should be sent to BPwin to update the new IDs and establish the ERwin 4.0 Model ID.
3. Once this has been completed, BPX and EAX may be used at will to and from the original and other ERwin models.
4. While one BPwin model may be synchronized with multiple ERwin models, an ERwin model should only be synchronized with one BPwin model.
Solution#: 9 DIAGRAMS MAY PRINT INCORRECTLY
BPwin diagrams may not print properly if there is no title and the sheet checkbox is unchecked.
Solution#: 10 CONTEXT NUMBER INCORRECT ON IDEF3 DIAGRAMS
The context number shown on IDEF3 diagrams in the upper right corner is incorrect. The number should be of the parent and not the current diagram number.
Solution#: 11 INCORRECT BITMAPS IN DIAGRAM EXPLORER
Incorrect bitmaps used when new diagrams are added via decomposition.
Solution#: 12 VARIOUS PROBLEMS WITH INSTALLATION
Various problems attempting to install BPwin.
Solution#: 13 PROBLEMS WITH RTB
When using RTB to generate a report, you may get message:
"RTB Runtime Error! Problems with the client application."
Also, CA logo may not appear in the HTML report.
Solution#: 14 PROBLEMS WITH EAX MERGE AS NEW
Using the EAX merge as new not functioning correctly
Solution#: 15 UNABLE TO IMPORT ATTRIBUTE DICTIONARY
Unable to import attributes from CSV file once entity names have been inserted into the diagram.
Not all swimlanes may print and all arrows are not printing. Not using real context diagram.
Solution#: 17 PRINTING HTML PICUTURE REPORTS CAUSES TRUNCATION
Printing an image from the HTML picture report in a web browser will truncate the image on the right side. Also, the generated image cannot be scaled.
THe picture being truncated is due to web browsers not tiling when they print. Printing in landscape would allow for more of the picture to be printed.
Added functionality to allow scaling of the pictures that are generated by report builder.
Solution#: 18 ARROW NAMES MAY BE INCORRECT
Arrows in diagrams may be mislabled.
Solution#: 19 COPY/PASTE PROBLEMS
Copy/Paste not working correctly in the dictionary editors.
Solution#: 20 ALLOW SAVE AND PRINT IN ALL DICTIONARIES
Added ability to save and print from all dictionaries using Ctrl-S (Save) and Ctrl-P (Print).
Solution#: 21 UNIQUE NAME NOT RECOGNIZED
Entity dictionary is not recognizing unique entity names.
Solution#: 22 CARRIAGE RETURNS INCLUDED IN NAMES
The Dictionary editors are saving carriage returns as part of the name.
Any carriage returns in a name will be removed with the diagram is saved.
Solution#: 23 ARROW NAMES MISSING IN REPORTS
Arrow names may be missing from the data store reports.
Solution#: 24 DEFINITION NOT LINE WRAPPING PROPERLY
The definition field for the Role, Role Group and Resource dictionaries are not line wrapping properly.
Solution#: 25 UNABLE TO REGISTER START MENU ICON
Error during the install process attempting to register the BPwin start menu Icon on machines where the start menu items are retrieved from a LAN server. The Icon can not be setup in the menu because the menu is read-only.
The installation will be modified to allow the start menu icon to be optional.

----------------------------------------------------------- 2B. BPwin 4.0 - Advisory Notes ----------------------------------------------------------- * WARNING: BPwin 2.5 and BPwin 4.0 can exist on the same machine but the Bpwinrpt.ini file, which includes custom report definitions, will be shared. If you choose to uninstall BPwin 2.5 before you install BPwin 4.0, you will delete this file. To preserve any custom report definitions, BEFORE you uninstall BPwin 2.5, make a backup copy of the BPwinrpt.ini file, which can be found in your Windows directory. After the uninstall, copy the file back to the original name.
* The first time that you install BPwin 4.0, a backup copy of the existing BPwinrpt.ini file is saved in your Windows directory with the name BPwinrpt.sv. After the install completes, you can rename the file BPwinrp.ini to preserve your latest custom report definitions.
* Models saved with this version of BPwin cannot be opened with pre-4.0 versions of BPwin. However, models opened and saved with this service pack are compatible with the GA build 467. If you need to use an earlier version of BPwin for some models, we recommend that you keep these models in a separate directory.
* BPwin 4.0 is not compatible with ModelMart 3.02. BPwin 4.0 will be compatible with ModelMart 4.0 (when it is generally available).
* Using the Import/Export feature in BPwin 4.0, information can be exchanged with ERwin 3.5.2. and with ERwin 4.0. The procedure for migrating BPX/EAX from ERwin 3.5.2 to ERwin 4.0 is:
1. Fully synchronize the BPwin 4.0 model with the ERwin 3.5.2 2. Open the ERwin model in ERwin 4.0 3. Export EAX to BPwin 4.0 4. Import EAX into BPwin
* BPwin 4.0 does not support RPTwin, which was shipped with BPwin 2.5. If you continue to use the legacy reports, which are available in BPwin 4.0, you can still export to RPTwin if it is installed on the same workstation. For this purpose, the RPTwin report layout files (.lwr) may still be used.
